Hello - this is another of those embarassed "I was napping when
you said..." notes.
Inspired by the recent praise of Nimslo, I dug into the closet
and found the one I bought in Boston a few years ago. (The dude
in the shop offered me his whole stock for $35 per each or some
such, but I declined.) Confirmed that it's a Japanese one and
should work, scrounged up a third battery, took it to the lake
with a friend, made what turned out to be the last exposure on
the roll, opened it up, and found ...
Seattle Film Works!
Since they refuse to return a roll intact, do those folks down
south (Dale? Arizona? I was napping) who return film uncut
accept stuff in a SFW cartridge?
And (sorry) where are they?
And a corollary question: I really liked the Nimslo flash, which
I was using on a garage-sale Minolta which got stolen. Has anyone
out there one that came with a dead camera or otherwise with which
he'd like to part at a nice price?
(For those who may not know, it has two lamps; a little one for
direct light, and the larger pivoted for bounce / fill. I
used it with my V/M camera (with a terribly crude adapter stack)
and got good results, little redeye, and almost workabable auto-
matic exposure. But I shouldn't be saying good things about it ...
Thanks ..
Calhoun, Seattle
