Re: requirements (8-perf frames, normal interocular)

The (symmetric, stereo) picture area is not full-frame -- maybe only 6 perf
wide (see previous drawings; aspect ratio is close to 4:5).
I think the important thing is that the _real_ centers of the two views are
already the right distance apart so it isn't always hyper. The film _strips_
(assuming slide film) can be viewed directly with the right viewer (which may
not exist yet, but a pair of loupes will do). Conventionally mounted 2"x2"
slides (not Realist) can be viewed in a "modern" viewer after masking.
By this I mean the viewer's oculars should point at the real centers of the
two images (i.e. ~65mm apart) and not at physical 24x36 frame centers.
This way the frames won't have to be mounted "offset" at all. Prints can
be processed anywhere and viewed with the ViewMagic (trimming would be nice
but not necessary). As for projection, it isn't any harder than it is now,
to cut out and mount (cropped down) 5-perf (or 7-perf) clips... But maybe a
cutter and mount can be made for the "toothy" pairs in my drawings, which may
help with alignment.
Is this all wishful thinking, or can we really entice someone to manufacture
a new stereo camera? What about the guy who invented (and sold thousands of)
the ViewMagic???
