I think collecting is an important part of the 3-D hobby. Wolfgang and I
personally own about 37 stereo cameras (he wrote 25+ on the survey). Most of
these are VM Personal
Camera variations, however, several are "users". I, personnaly, do not shoot
many
stereo pictures but I feel it is important to have these cameras as part of
our overall VM collection. We are preserving these items (with the hope of
opening a museum someday) for the future. If everyone "used" their
collectible equipment, there would never be a chance of a musuem displaying
it in the future. So what if I have five cutters....
each one is a different color, therefore, a variation. I do sell equipment
from time to time when I have the opportunity to do so. Therefore, I am not
depriving the people interested in shooting from having a chance to.

As a collector I feel good stereo equipment should be preseved and used...an
equal
collaboration of both makes both the individual and the stereo community
happy with
their imput and foresight to preseve these items for future generations.
