In my vocabulary this is called "improving"... And so is filing the
apertures of the red-button or Kodaslide viewer so that the 7-p image can
be seen without any cutoff.  For me, the real value of the stereo cameras 
of the 50s is the wonderful stereo images that they produce.  I will not 
hesitate to modify my equipment so that they do their job (taking/viewing 
pictures) better than originally designed.  I love and prespect my Realist 
gear for its function, not its looks.  My camera and viewer show signs of 
wear but they are in top operating condition.

OK, I understand those who are emotionally tied to their cameras, but since
I am not using my grandfather's Realist or even my first Realist, I am past
this emotional stage... For the most part cameras and viewers are tools or
investment for me...
