Re: Collecting vs Using

I was going to remain out of the war as I collect as well as shoot.

I must say the shooters are missing a very important point. Many of the
cameras and equipment are only on the market because of the collectors. Many
times we buy a group of items to get things for the collection and sell off
the items we don't need. I have personally put at least 30 cameras onto the
market that would still be gatering dust in a dark basment or attic. The
shooters don't drive 150 miles a weekend looking for items as the true
collectors do and don't account for many of the items that are for sale..

So say thanks and don't knock the collectors. Also remember that even the
prices you consider high are not that bad. Buy a new nikon and see what it
costs, not to mention a macro lens. No one ever said 3-d photography was an
inexpensive hobby.

1950 is gone and prices have gone up.
