Horrid movie / cool camera...

I've had a terrible case of the flu lately and have taken to sleeping on
the couch to save my significant other the anguish of listening to me hack
my way thru the night. Last night while surfing the TV channels I came
across one of those *horrible* (no, this one wasn't even "campy") 50s
sci fi movies. You know the ones. Where the 12" iguana is made to look like
a 40' monster... Screams, hands to mough to stifle crys of fear and
loathing... Bad dialogue. Poor acting. rotten props. Usual plot. 2 male
scientist patronizing 2 female scientists. One of the pair paddles off in a
rubber boat to explore the distant shores of a "mysterious island" with wierd
shrubbery... Yawn. Gag.

Well I was just about to press the channel selector when the lady
scientist whips out her stereo Realist for a quick snapshot of the
landscape. First time I can ever recall seeing a stereo camera in a movie.
Can anyone else recall other films where someone was using a stereo camera???
The scene emphasized the camera like it was one staples of a scientific
expedition to an unknown land...

This particular film was sooooo bad that the title wasn't even listed.
Too bad. The scene with the camera was one of the only good parts...

Ken
