Rittai 8000 ?

I recently came across a 'new' Rittai 8000 in a Catalogue Clearance shop 
(end of line stock etc.) at what I considered to be a bit of a steep price,
240 (pounds sterling) considering that the current model of Rittai is going
for 95 at the widescreen centre.

As it was languishing in a glass cabinet with no information on display
and this is not the type of store where the staff have a knowledge of 
cameras in general never mind 'stereo' I didn't follow it up any further.

So can anyone give me any details on this one ? I suspect its been in the 
case for quite a while.

Is it really a camera worth more than twice the current Rittai or is 
it just a case of a store manager adding on 50 each for all those
'spare' lenses :-) ?
