I hate it too.

It seems to be causing major problems for the large majority of list
members.  The cure seems to be much worse than the supposed disease.

Unless I'm missing something, one of the major problems is that the _digest_
has already stripped out the "X-Original-From" lines.  My reader displays
this category of header, but only once for the digest, and it's wrong -- the
digest is the only thing that actually comes from Photo-3D, but its
X-Original-From line seems to have the address of the person submitting the
last article in the digest.  For example, digest 1250 header said:
X-Original-From: fj834@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx (Dr. George A. Themelis).  For
what it's worth I'm using Eudora 1.4.3 for Windows.

Even if this were fixed, it would not be as good as honest "from" lines
within the table of contents of the digest.  

All that aside, I must say that I am still very grateful to those whose
constant effort allows the existence of the list and the digest.  It is
extremely valuable.  Thank you.
