You are suggesting that one shouldn't show slides that might offend
anyone? People sitting at a dinner table could offend people of
certain religions depending upon what is being eaten. Images of
a river may offend those who knew what it looked like in the olden
days before pollution. Offend noone?
Trick is to determine who the audience is and what is an acceptable
percentage of offensiveness. "None" is probably impossible. I find
that slides that bore me to be offensive, so those had better be left
out too! :-)
I think "ground rules" ahead of time by the organizers of the
particular showing would be appropriate. I think anything goes
so long as the attendees and the presenters both know ahead of
time what the ground rules are, whether they allow nudes,
boring pictures, or whatever. No, boring pictures don't offend me,
I was just making a point, just in case it wasn't obvious. :-)
It's Friday evening. TGIFe.
