Staying on topic - how about printers?

I hate to disrupt the nude vs. art discussions but I need some directions
on what printer to buy with my new computer system.  In the past I have
used laser printers to print text or B&W digitized images for my viewer
books that can be copied without problems (= excessive contrast) in a
regular copier.

My main interest in life is 3-d, so feel free to make appropriate
recommendations in personal email.
