Hi,
I went to the Barrone Camera Swap in Baltimore, MD yesterday and chatted
with Bill Duggan, President of the Potomac Society of Stereo Photograhers.
What a pleasant guy! Got a chance to see his french converted dual Nikon
FG20 rig. He also turned me on to an idea to inexpensively do stereo macro
photography. By taking an 85 m lens he attached a Tiffen multi-image filter
so that two images were now seen. To adjust the macro focal distance he
uses a #1 closeup filter that brings the focal point down to 7". Said it
was great for photographing bumblebees in mid-flight as long as you don't
get too close (ouch!). Has anyone else tried this?
I also stumbled on a Realist ST-2 mounting kit that includes the original
box, instructions and components. There are a few pieces mising like the
tweezers but the major components are there such as the Realist film cutter,
the heater, aliging jig and so on. It also has an empty box for a Realist
ST54 Sunshade and Filter Holder (but no filter holder...sniff). Also have a
complete set of Harrison cooling and warming filters (Series 4.5) in matched
pairs. Not sure what the collectible value is but will probably bring them
to Rochestor in August. If anyone has any ideas on value of these would
appreciate any comments.
Off to Cleveland!
