Thanks for the answers on the curling-ness of stereoviews. I had no idea
that they were actually <made> that way! Wow! I wasn't planning to flatten
my whole collection, but instead, I was going to scan a few for a client
job...

...Which leads me to my next question:
Is anyone aware of the copyright status on U&U and other old stereoviews.
Since my client wants to use an image from my collection, I want to be sure
that I am not violating any copyrights.
