I'll give my opinion for what it's worth, but if someone with more
experience replies, take their advice, I'm just a newbie myself. I use BOTH
the Reel 3-d slip-in mounts and their heat seal mounts. The slip-ins are
used to hold the chips while I'm cutting the roll of film and then to
'pre-view' the slides. What I like, I then pull (using tweezers) and mount
in the heat seal mounts, and reuse the slip-ins. That way I have an easy
way NOT to get confused while cutting, and an easy way to preview my mounts
and decide if they are worth keeping or not. When allis said and done I
have a few heat seal mounts and all of my slip-ins empty to use again. ANd
the heat seal mount seem to be of good quality to me. There is no fuzzing
arounf the front window (there is some on the back side, but since it is a
larger opening, you never see it). All in all, I like their mounts. I also
would be glad to hear of anyone else's comments on other brands of
'inexpensive' mounts. Sure, the aluminium mounts are better, but on a 'poor
preacher's' wage, I simply can't afford them.
