That might be a good "consumer advocate" service! Most of the "3D" girlie CDs
I've seen have been like the one Marcus got--flat images tricked up to float
behind the window an inch or two when viewed with anaglyph glasses. Unlike 3D
fads of the past, the current one seems to have brought out an unusual number of
pure-and-simple snake oil salesmen who don't feel obliged to deliver even an
inferior 3D product when sticking the term "3D" on a flat product will do! There
are also a lot of people leaping on the bandwagon who don't know jack-s**t about
3D. I had a little correspondence with the retailer who is selling all of those
XXX Pulfrich tapes (I mentioned him a couple of digests back), and I politely
pointed out that his phrase "polaroid split image real 3D" wasn't STRICTLY true.
He was apparently a little offended and assured me that all of his tape were
really true polaroid 3D--they all come with genuine polaroid glasses, the kind
with the light and dark lenses just like the old-time movies! (At least he
didn't tell me that the "old-time" movies all used red and blue glasses!
Arrrggghhh!)
