Re: PHOTO-3D digest 1286
RE: Viewer voltage, NiCds et all. Dr.T
George is probably thinking I have gone over the edge, as I even sent a
viewer to him for TLC with NiCds inside that he had to return. (He sent
me a different brand, but that's OK.) I know that the normal flashlite
bulb (which these were) is set to a nominal 2.48 v or so to allow for
the middle life of the two cell set. But NiCds are never more than 1.22
v per cell so start off as mid life batteries. A nice fresh alkaline
will certainly pep up the light. I also don't like the fact that NiCds
don't have much of a shelf live and need recharging monthly at least.
It may be that my bad experience is from not having the heavy duty ones
that cost about $7 each..most of the cheaper ones are an AA in a C or D
case. BobH
