I found a copy of a book published by the Montana Historical Society
entitled F. J. Haynes, Photographer. It has around 50 or 60 stereo views
beautifully
reproduced. Most of the work shown is documentary in nature (railroad con-
struction, boating, lumbering, etc.,) the book convinced me that Haynes was
an excellent photographer and an excellent technician.

This book has a copy of one of the most amazing photograph I've ever seen.
It's plate 12, "Prairie Breaking (16 teams). This stereo pair shows virgin
prairie
on one side, plowed earth on the other. The sheer scale of the plowing
never fails to move me.

Worth buying if you see it. It was published in 1981.
