Greg Erker wrote an excellent response.  I agree about being 
careful about using a framesplitter.  It warps the 3D space.
Not much, but it could be important here.

I think there are various models of RBT available (at least used) 
and one model anyway has lens spacing that is correct.  Where's 
Mr. RBT-USA when you need him?  8-)  The scaling effect of 
changing lens spacing is inversely and linearly proportional: 
double the lens spacing and halve the scale of the 3D space.
 
I think I would put some 50 mm lenses on the RBT and use a Star D 
or other viewer with 50 mm lenses.
