Back on 2/6/96 in Digest 1169, I posted a rather long message titled 3D/2 Lantern Slides telling about the batch of Keystone Tour of the World Lantern Slides which I had acquired. Each slide was numbered and titled the same as the corresponding Stereo View of a 600 Card Tour of the World Set.

I had hoped to find others who may have had some of these same slides which I understood were sold mostly to schools. I was especially interested in knowing if anyone knew if Keystone used both halves of their stereo negatives when making the 3 1/4 x 4 inch glass Lantern Slides as they did when they printed the corresponding cards. It appeared that my Lantern Slides were from the left half of the stereo negative and later I was able to confirm that was the case for about a dozen or so where a also had the corresponding Stereo View. This was done by making a Xerox copy of the Stereo View, folding the copy, and placing one side at a time on the left and then the right side of the Lantern Slide which was on a light box.

Perhaps I was not clear in my questions as to knowledge of Keystone's production methods or whether others had any of these same slides that we may be able to compare which half the slide was printed from; as the only response pertained to some locally made Oregon Lantern Slides.

Regardless, if any readers have knowledge of Keystone's LanternSlide production methods and/or have any Tour of the World Lantern Slides, I will appreciate hearing from you.
