I hope Joel or someone decides to bring these into the US. The Boy 
corporation cleans up a lot of the roughness of the FED, and also makes 
it compatable with standard US 110v power. The lamps it uses (FCS) cost 
under $3 each from the larger lamp supply houses. 

The Boy company still needs to mod the 101mm carrier to 102mm to
accomodate glass mounts, but that's something the user could modify if
push came to shove. 

The machine is whisper quiet and the size of a shoebox. Operation is
manual. It isn't dirt cheap, but at $600-650 or thereabouts it's a viable
alternative for those of us who can't afford a Brackett or an RBT, but
want something better than a TDC. (BTW, TDC prices seem to be rising-- at
the last camera show in Puyallup the asking price on a 716 with 5 inch
lenses and a Selectronic Tray was $600.  The asking price on a 116 5", no
Selectronic was $450. The 116 5" can still be found for about $350 with case
in nice shape, but it's taking more and more looking to do it, and the 
4" versions are starting to become scarce...)
