Pushing Kodachrome

       I called A&I in Los Angeles at (800) 883-9088. - (They can
also be reached at 213-856-5255, if this number will not work
for you.) - Here's the latest info on push processing
Kodachrome- Pushing can be done in 1/3 increments, up to 2
stops for only $3.00 extra per roll over their regular $7.50
charge (with mounting or $7.00 without mounting). - They can
go up to a 4 stop push for an extra $50.00 per stop. - They
also do pull processing for slower speed.

The process works by changing the developer temperature, rather
than by changing the development time, as with E-6. - They
indicated that they do work for a lot of rock and roll
photographers. The info I had earlier re a $30 setup charge,
which I got from my local dealer, is apparently no longer correct.

While I have not tried pushing Kodachrome 200, I have seen the
results of this process. The color balance does not appear to
shift, although there is increased grain.
