As an "experimenter", "play"ing with 3-D, I must dissagree with your conclusion. The reason that "A colored filter just doesn't create the same coloration as a "normal" anaglyph" is because of the use of poorly selected filters. The filters can be chosen so that they DO create normal coloration. The "two strip Technicolor camera" examples the ability to get "normal" color from two "anaglyph" filters (although they used dichroics). ALL of mine look normal.
