1. The sentence re options for a damage lamphousing/plug should have read:

" If A-OK, continue. if not, you have no choice
but to toss it and either scratch build a replacement or find another 
one, or you can also try George's technique and split the rubber... "

2. The size of the cable tie used to secure the new cord to the 
lamphousing/plug should be 0.1 inch by 4 inches (not .010 inches). 

If anyone is actually going to do these repairs, I can make a sketch of 
what I did, scan it as a .gif file and attach it to a private email post.
