Too many Davis' plus unusual Realist Ilex Paragon FS

Bill Davis, sorry to confuse you with my good friend Peter Davis,
whose selection slides I had the chance to enjoy recently (nice work
Peter! You should have joined expo2!)

Yes, you are correct, I am talking about a different situation (E6 vs.
Kodachrome)... I know that they are people out there tolerating a
bad E6 job just to save some money (I used to be one of them...)
Trying to correct things via the lab is a good way to go about it,
but there is a point when one is fed up and should be looking for a
different lab. That's what happened to me.

Regarding getting the film back in one vs. 7 days, there are different
degrees of 3-d addiction. Seven days is too long for me to wait. I am
a busy person too but I can always find one hour to mount roll even
if that means that I sleep one hour less. ;)

Talking about Davis', I am looking for a Davis to buy this great
Realist, preferably a Charles Davis, or, even better, a Charles C.
Davis Jr.

Why am I so specific? Well I got a Realist with serial number A9368
(early model) with Ilex Paragon lenses. The camera is in Exc.
condition (I will avoid abusing the word "Mint" here ;)) as good
as one would expect for a camera that was made in 1948! This camera
has a couple of interesting features... It has a handle on each
lens which makes changing aperture a snap (first time I have seen this
feature in a Realist). It is also fitted with doulbe exposure
prevention button and DOF scale (features added obviously later, a
sign that the owner was a satisfied user).

Who was the owner? Mr. Charles C. Davis Jr. of course! His name
is engraved at the bottom of the camera.

The camera comes with a small box, an official Realist box titled
"Stereoscopic Pictures" (first time I see that too). The box is
addressed in the back to Mr. Davis by the David White Company and
it is stamped on Oct. 7 1949. Inside the box are a dozen stereo
pictures taken by Mr. Davis and his Realist camera mounted in nice
cardboard Realist mounts.

I will put my usual good work bringing the camera up to spec and
will sell it with the box + slides + original Realist instruction
manual, for $165 plus shipping. The higher than usual price is
due to the good condition of this earlier model Realist, the
desirable Ilex Paragon lenses and the extra features (DEP button,
DOF scale and aperture handles) on the camera.
