Some months ago our Electronic Tech set up a few Kodak DCS 460 Digital cameras
for me to fire simultaneously from a Radio-controlled remote.  The things gave
him trouble because he could get the autofocus to work, but the cameras would
not fire...  After some deliberation he concluded that the CMOS circuit 
required "a little something else..." and soldered the cable sheathing to the
ground wire.  It worked with the Nikon N-90 bodies.

Since it's Nikon, maybe your N2000 cameras work the same...
