Beseler 6 x 13 Medium Format Projector

Hi folks,
a 3D-friend from this list was kind enough to pick up a projector for me
which I finally dragged home from England last Monday. During the
Stereoscopic Society Convention, I showed this projector Susan Pinsky,
David Starkman and David Burder -- and they have not even heard of it,
so it must be really scarce. Maybe someone on this list can help.
It's a Medium format projector for 6 x 13 cm stereo slides, in a large
black metal housing with crinkle-finish, made by Charles Beseler Co.,
New York. Serial-# B 8494, rated at 120 V / 2,000 Watts. It came with
two CZX lamps (500 W, like used in the View-Master Stereomatic), and
the fan inside is by Redmond Co., Owosso, Michigan. Since the fan is
rated at 3.0 Amps (at 115 Volts), I suppose that the projector origi-
nally came with two 750 W bulbs (which are also available with the
appropriate mogul prefocus socket.
The front part with the lenses (two 9" Focus Projection Lenses by
Buhl Optical Co., Pittsburgh, Pa.) can be moved for focusing. There's
a large black bellow between the projector body and lenses.
I've just tried it out (fortunately, I do have a transformer from 240
to 115 Volts which can take up to 3,000 Watts) and it works perfectly.
The fan is amazingly silent, yet delivers a stong airstream.
I'd guess the projector was built in the late 1940's, but would welcome
any ideas from listmembers, even regarding other (flat) Beseler pro-
jectors. Apparently, it's the company now doing enlargers.
Thanks - and best wishes,
Alexander Klein
