I checked my own reprint of the Realist manual, and it indeed confirmed
that the flash connection is x-sync at all speeds, bulbs at 1/25 sec.
(and below, but it did not say that).

If I ever find the reference that I am recalling, I will post it, but
until then I consider the matter authoritatively closed: the Realist
has X-sync at all speeds.
