OK, good.  If what you originally said were true, the system wouldn't
work, because the convergence/divergence is the primary depth cue.

If the system is orthogonal, they darn well should be!  If you're saying
that this is often not the case, I'd probably agree.  In spite of all John
B.'s teachings, I still don't understand how to calculate how to
"make it so".
