I had been thinking that they are one-in-the-same, but upon reflection
I see that they aren't.  The disparity allows one to see depth in the
entire scene-at-a-glance, and is responsible for why we need to converge/
diverge for objects at varying distances, but convergence is a secondary
cue.  Got it.
