One should be aware that in the past some mfgr's had put "archival"
on smelly nose-outgassing products that weren't archival at all. It
only said "archival" because it's something customers like to see on
the product. Reminds me of a story recently about a mfgr who went
to Korea looking for a supplier of fuses. One particular mfgr made "UL"
fuses but they weren't marked that way because they met UL requirements,
but because customers demanded UL labelled fuses, and they complied by
labelling them that way.

So it's a good idea for the product to say what it's made of, and to know
that it's safe. It's your slides, protect them.

Of course, they may just label the product with a material name that
customers just like to see..... so making sure the mfgr is a reputable
one might be a good idea as well.

P.S. - Seems like a Stereo-slide Baja case from the 50's would have
outgassed all it's going to outgas by now. How long will
       significant outgassing continue?
