Put that heat press back where you found it, young man! That curve
isn't a bug, its a feature! Starting in the 1880s, most stereoviews were
manufactured with curved mounts. It is meant to help reduce glare, so
I've heard, though I've noticed no difference in glare problems with
curved mounts vs earlier flat mounts.
So, go and enjoy your new stereoscope with one less worry!
