Electronic Imaging '96 & Lenticular PC display of 3D

Hi All,

With the recent posts to this group about lenticular screens used on video
or PC displays I have been doing some research. I found the web pages with
brief descriptions of presentations made at the Electronic Imaging '96
convention. Did any of this group manage to view the system which
demonstrated using an HOE instead of a lenticular screen? This makes a whole
lot more sense for a number of reasons and I would like to hear from anyone
who would care to comment on this presentation or any presentations of a
similar nature. (ie: 3D display without use of glasses with a potential for
use on PC systems)

This presentation was made by Kunio Sakamoto and a number of others from
Osaka, Japan.

>views is much greater that of an equivalent lenticular display, because the
screen HOE can multiplex pixels both horizontally and
>vertically to display lateral views. This screen HOE can be made more
easily and smoothly.

Any comparative commentary on this would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Larry Berlin
