I went to EI'96 but unfortunately didn't see this presentation.  I did
see a 3D display in the holographic exhibit outside the Practical Holography
conference room.  However, that display was only had a size of 1"x1"
and was monochrome, so I guess it isn't the same system.

In the Stereoscopic Displays and Applications Conference there was
a different system presented also using a HOE instead of a lenticular 
screen.  Presented by David Trayner & Edwina Orr, Richmond Holographics
Studios Ltd., London, United Kingdom.
