It still is. Well over $100 for a 400 foot roll, about 11 minutes at 
standard crank, just for the negative alone.

Still and all, it puts video to shame, which is an almost impossibly low 
resolution, high noise system as we now practice it (NTSC worse than PAL 
or SECAM), poorly suited for the demands of stereo. Same for digital... 
at this juncture, resolution can't come close to matching.

Perhaps someday we'll have a less expensive, but still acceptable, 
alternative.
