You're right - I should do it the old-fashoioned way with in-camera color 
separations onto B&W film.

Yes, with res not remarkably more than 35 format.  But I have high hopes 
of making one some day.  I figure if you can make 423 billion medium format
stereo cameras from junk parts in your spare time, even a guy as slow as 
I am ought to be able to build _one_!  8-)
