On Friday, August 9th, I'll be doing a 3D projection with my
new Brackett Dissolver projector, at the Ashkenaz night club
at 1317 San Pablo Avenue in Berkeley, California. This place
holds about 280 people. A band called the Reptiles, will be
playing a concert in memory of Jerry Garcia who died on August
9th of last year. My projection is not the main event. -
Instead it will be sort of a 3D light show, which hopefully
will enhance the audience's enjoyment of the music. I'm still
working out exactly what I will project, but I will definitely
be showing pictures taken at Grateful Dead concerts,
as well as some high speed pictures of water balloons in
mid-pop. I believe the cover charge is $8.00. I will be
doing the projection at least 3 times during the course of the
evening. - I'll be projecting on to a 70 inch screen at the side
of the stage, but I probably won't be able to set up far
enough back to completely fill the screen. (I have 85mm
lenses, and will probably set up about 16 feet from the
screen.) Hopefully, I will be able to have any stage lights
dimmed to the point where they don't cause problems with the
projection. - I'll have 120 pairs of glasses which the
audiance will have to share. I hope some you in the area will
consider attending.
