>>>>>>>>>>>>> I agree with this assesment overall. A bias toward good 3D
is a good bias. However I would point out that in all forms of media the
same principle holds true. They continue to make tons of movies and other
materials of the 2D type that are poorly written and produced or simply bad
material to start with. If the existence of bad material stopped further
productions none of us would have anything to watch at all. I can only wish
that the existence of bad commercials would stop further commercials from
being made but at todays ratio of commercial to content, they make more than
ever.
It's easy to feel supportive of lots of new 3D efforts because there is such
a lack of such material overall. At this point there needs to be a larger
quantity and it needs to be easily available. I fully expect lots of poor
quality material will get produced during the process of getting the
quantity up, since it is a medium that needs some understanding on the part
of producers. Even those who know how to work with it may not always be
successful. That's the learning process.
Thanks to this list and other resources about 3D I am learning more about
what is involved in getting good 3D. When we do find really good 3D I'm sure
that a greater level of excitement will be generated and that good material
can interest more of the general audiences as well.
