Re:STEREO MOVIES

Friends,

Reference to all that chat about KISS ME KATE and sterescopic movies.
The modern equivalent uses one piece of film with two images and
soundtrack incorporated on the film to prevent any sync. problems.

The German firm of ISCO OPTIC manufacture a 3-D motion picture
projection lens to cover and project this image - in fact it is a
split lens that picks up either image (a sort of beam splitter but not
using prisms). Before you rush out and buy one, let me warn you that
they'll set you back something like 15,000 sterling (around $20,000
dollars each).

The British Film Institute publish a coloured wall chart showing all the
past and present 3-D motion picture formats.
