I don't recall anyone even hinting that you might have no clue. However, I think
you are greatly exaggerating the use and need for matte shots in movies. They
were very common in the old days when virtually everything was shot on a sound
stage or a back lot; today with most films being shot largely on location (the
exteriors, at least) they are less common. The idea that any film deprived of
the ability to use matte shots would suffer almost beyond salvation is pretty
far-fetched.
