I keep hearing this argument (sometimes offered seriously by people right here
on the list), and I can't help wondering--does more than 90% of the population
at large ever actually patronize any one movie? And then I go on wondering. I
don't know what percentage of the population is colorblind, but surely enough to
make Technicolor merely a curiosity. And there are certainly enough deaf people
to render talkies pointless. And then there are all those blind people...
