Projection and downfall of 3D

I agree 100% with Norm's comments regarding stereo projections.
I have been shooting stereo slides for 8 years now and have
been projecting them and competing for 2 years. And yet, I
do not feel ready to present a 3-d show to the public.

I can torture my wife and kids... That's OK. They torture me too.
But I would not dare to even call the neighbors without having a
very well-edited program to show. It will be at least 10 years
from now before I am ready (experienced, etc.) to put together
an NSA show.

On a different but related subject, Rick Inzero
presented a "New theory on the 1950s downfall of 3D". Rick
looked at a random sample of slides from the 50s and was
suprised to see how many of them were badly mounted to the
point of being unviewable. Part of the downfall of 3-D
must be certainly due to the inability of the general
public to use the 3-d medium effectively.

>The result was maybe 80% complete unviewable rejects, with
>accompanying severe dissatisfaction and disgust in the whole 3D
>thing.

Rick was half-kidding, but I am not. I have seen the same
mismounted/bad slides and have reached the same conclusions.

PS. Regarding my energy and time, I wanted to post my impressions of
the convention while they were still fresh in my mind. And, just in
case my employer is tuned to photo-3d, I wrote these postings at home
and did not waste any time at work... ;)
