That would be Mars Pathfinder. It carries a small rover with stereo
videocamera. Unfortunately the camera is set up with a noticeable
convergence error, or poor windowing, or both; I can't remember right
now. After I noticed the problem on their web site, I corresponded with
them for about a year showing them easy fixes but I didn't get anywhere.
Sort of like the proverbial ant crawling up the back of the elephant I
guess. 8-( There were no stereophiles involved in its design to my
knowledge. I worked a little with them on ways of correcting the
error with computer algorithms. We'll see if they implement any of
that. The Pathfinder web site seems to be down right now but you can
get a thumbnail on the mission from:
