If you skip the scan part, one can do that now, and some do.  Shoot on
print film and have the roll processed but not cut -- then have the entire
roll "printed" onto slide-film.  Some of the mail order places will do this,
and there probably are local outfits in larger cities that will too.

Of course, one could leave in the scanner to allow digital manipulation
"inbetween" -- including window manipulation, etc.... :-)
