Thanks to a remarkably successful letter writing campaign, the New Neon
Movies in Dayton, Ohio, will become North America's only Cinerama theatre!
Over 1400+ enthusiastic movie lovers from 24 states, Australia, England,
Scotland and Canada have poured out their dreams to see "How The West Was
Won" and "This Is Cinerama" in the original 3-projector process on a giant
146 degree (deeply curved) screen in 6- and 7-track magnetic stereophonic
sound! They wrote, faxed and e-mailed their messages of support for
reviving this amazing panoramic cinema experience, promising to travel
however far to come to Dayton and share the wonder and virtual reality of
inventor Fred Waller's unparalled feature presentation process CINERAMA!
Our thanks to those letter writers and internet surfers who helped spread
the word. Their letters and personal comments now decorate our lobby walls
for all to read.
The OK was finally given on August 2nd, and construction of the 3
projection booths, the huge 25 by 50 feet lenticular screen, the large
curtain track, the giant THX-approved speakers, etc. began on the
following Monday.
Advance tickets are $10 each and available by mail order. Send order with
