Photo CD idea

Here's a half thought out idea to allow you to get photo CDs
made from your Realist slides. Haven't tried this but...
Take some standard plastic 2x2 mounts and glue in half
of an Albion mount. The Albion channels give you a way to hold
the film chip and the Albion mount piece blocks off the rest of
the 8 perf opening so the scanner isn't blinded by all
the light shining past the 5 perf wide film chip.
One benefit is that you can adjust the film chip placement
in the left and right slides so that the window will be set
as desired in the scanned image.
The resulting scan would be 5 perf image with a black border
around it giving a total size of 8 perf. I don't know if
the black border will screw up the auto exposure on the
photo CD scanner (if it has any).
You would have to make enough of these so you could get
5 or 10 slides scanned at once. Otherwise the setup charges
to get one or two slides done at a time would get very expensive.
Obviously getting an entire uncut roll of slides scanned
is cheapest but as far a I know nobody does that for 5 perf
realist images.
S'all folks - Greg E.
