Dear Elliot,

I asked the "bosses" about a realistic shipping date.  There will be an
announcement after a meeting on Monday. =20

As an insider, (for the first time), I'm getting quite a look at WHY things
don't always go out on time.  We have suppliers of parts and materials, all
up and down the east coast and in the Orient.  We have packaging and
assembly plants with which to coordinate, as well as plastic moulding
companies (who have to refine their process, as we go).  Sometimes, trucks
get lost or break down on the way to our offices. =20

Then, we have a whole team of people testing and rating the units that come
in "finished".  (This weekend, all employees of the company and their
families have been asked to take units home to test.)  After suggestions,
changes are made, then implemented.  Discovered problems are 're-engineered=
'
and fixed.=20

We are committed to 'getting it right' BEFORE the final product goes to the
customers.=20

And the whole time, the phones are ringing.  (And we don't have consumer
'help' lines in place yet, so actual production staff and engineers are
called away from their work to tell people how to connect the wires and tur=
n
on the units!)

All of the above is based upon the 1,000 'prototypes' in the hands of
Beta-testers.

becomes available.  (You may even wish to re-post this letter to the list,
so people have a better understanding of the situation.)
