50s 3D movies

I was around in the 50s and I can state unequivocally that all the 3D
films I saw at the time were projected using polarizers. I am unaware of
any showings of b/w 3D movies using the red/green system (anaglyph is a
misnomer, IMO).  If there is any evidence that these films were, indeed,
shown using r/g filters (ads, press releases, reviews) could someone
provide this?
