TDC Carriers

>>>I'm still wondering what the heck the back slot is for. Were there slides
*slightly* bigger (taller?) than Realist?
>>Rick Inzero

Okay, okay, I'll tell everyone if they promise to change the subject! (and
enough of the polarized vs. anaglyph movies).....

On the TDC "VIVID", the TDC 116, and 116A, the standard aluminum carrier had
two CHANNELS. The Realist/Kodak slide dropped into the front; a double 2x2
mounted in cardboard, metal or glass goes into the back channel. On the TDC
DeLuxe 716/716A, the new stainless steel carrier had a single channel which
took the Realist slide (this was masked down so that it does not show 7-perf
slides).

On the Projector-or-View, the are 2 SLOTS. The front slot takes the standard
716 stainless steel (Realist size) carrier; the rear slot takes a single 2x2
(mono) slide and which is mostly useless. Also, on the Proj-or-View, there
are screws on the left side, above the slots, which screw into the changers
and hold them firmly in place. Also, carriers designed for the Proj-or-View
have a small roll-pin on the front right, which stops the carrier at a
certain depth, so it is centered in the projector (no big deal--if you're
using a P-or-V carrier in a 716, just pull out the pin, and if you're using
a 716 carrier in the P-or-V, you won't notice it's missing).

That's it....my 2,000 page guide, "Explaining the TDC carriers" is now no
longer neccessary!

Oh, just to do a bit of advertising, I do have NEW, re-made 116 carriers
(much better than the originals) at $145 each, and single 2x2 (mono)
carriers for the P-or-V and the DeLuxe projectors, at 2 for $11. All plus UPS.
