That's exactly what happened when I first got my Kodak Stereo!  So I guess you're not 
the only idiot out there.  I figure my flash terminal may have never been used, but the 
cap was still intact.  I tried pushing, turning, everything I could think of to get the 
thing to operate SOMETHING...
