Like Marvin and BobH. I will continue to use the term "beamsplitter" in private conversations but switch to the more accurate (less inaccurate?) term "mirrorthingie" for postings in this list.
I was thinking that "stereo camera" says basically nothing about the way that the camera records the stereo image. Why would we want the name for the mirrothingie to do any more? "Anaglyph" says nothing about red and blue but no one appears to care... I don't either...
Also, I liked BobH response to the question regarding the incident vs. reflected light meter. The calibration is in the density of the dome. No other adjustments are needed, only the knowledge of how to use them. An incident reading in location A must be the same as a reflected reading off a "gray card" in the same location.
