Anaglyph, the word

I suppose much may depend on which usage you hear first.  In the case of
"anaglyph," I had never heard the word used in any connection _other_ than
red and blue (or other complementary colors) stereo images.  When someone
here recently remarked that that wasn't really what the word meant, I looked
it up in the dictionary and was surprised to find that the first definition
given had to do with carving in low relief.
